Job description:
Reporting to the City Manager, the Fire Chief is responsible for administering all functions of the Fire Department. Position provides administration and direction for functions to include, but not limited to, personnel, vehicle and equipment maintenance, emergency responses, records and reporting duties, emergency medical treatment, and operational budgets. Incumbent plans, organizes, directs, and controls fire/rescue service functions within applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible practical, supervisory, and managerial experience in conducting emergency response operations, including experience in the administrative aspects of the work; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Bachelors Degree in Fire Science, Emergency Medical Service, Public Administration or related field, TCFP Master Firefighter Certification, Texas EMS Certification (Intermediate or Paramedic) Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of the Executive Fire Officer Program from the National Fire Academy (EFO), CPSE Chief Fire Officer Certificate (CFO), Fire Officer IV, Texas Fire Chiefs Academy Graduate
